	M_Zatko: Zatko Family Name/Podvazs My grandfather, Stefan Zatko, came to US from Podvazs, Hungary in 1906 at the age of 17. My father was young when my grandfather passed away and he does not rememmber any mention of family left behind so we do not know anything, although ship records indicate that he was to stay with a brother-in-law named Yohann Duris. Therefore, I assume he had a sister who was married to Duris. Does anyone know where I might begin to look for any records in Slovakia if my grandfather came from Podwazs? My search has really just begun and I do not know much about the history or geography of this region. Podvasz, Trencsen megye is Podvazie now part of town of Pruske. Podvázs or Szavcsina-Podvázs aka Vágpart, Tencsén County, Pu(c)hó District, Hungary, today in Slovakia it's name was Savčina-Podvažie † >> now part of Pruské[SL]/Pruszka or Poroszka[HU]. It would seem that ZATKO list in Povazska Bystrica's phone book. Of course, the poster needs to find some US document that will provide another clue as which of Podvazie he was from.
